Lord Jesus Christ, by your presence at the wedding feast, you blessed the state of holy matrimony; and by a special token of your love and favor you have raised marriage to the dignity of a sacrament. Grant now that I, together with my wife, may be ever faithful to the marriage vows we have pledged.

May all our living bring us closer together in mutual love and in love for you.

May no act of ours be ever unworthy in your sight.

May we never forget the ends for which matrimony has been instituted. And especially may we never, through selfishness, defile ourselves and our love by unlawful acts of any sort that may displease you.

Teach us to trust in you, to receive the little children you send us, and to offer them back to receive your love. Grant us the spiritual and temporal means to rear these children properly. And thus may we deserve your favors, which we seek in our marriage.

May every expression of our love for one another be united to our love for you.

When it is necessary to exercise restraint or self-control, then above all may our lvoe and respect for one another and our love for you show its true depth. May we then be thoughtful and considerate and kind to each other in countless lawful ways.

so give us the grace to be strong, strong in our love for one another, strong in our integrity, strong in respect for our marriage vows, strong in our love for you. Amen.
