In 1962, OLPH Parish set out on a campaign to build a new permenant school. Faced with a rapidly growing school enrollment then exceeding 430 students and the fact that an additional 70 first graders will be entering the program each year, the need for a new school was evident. |
| Recognition of this growing need prompted the Pastor and Church Steering Committee, with approval of ecclesiastical Superiors, to arrange for an organized drive to raise the necesary funds. The committee met and voted to set a fund raising goal of $150,000. It wasn't until 1980, that Construction began and was completed on a new permanent School facility. |

The new facility was constructed of steel and brick materials. Classes will be held from Pre-K 3 through 6th grade. The school also included a new library. |
| The new education building was blessed by Bishop Drury on October 5, 1980. Father Joseph Elworthy and Deacon Walter Breland accompanied the Bishop during the blessing celebration. |
